Wall construction

This is an Austrian-Slovenian international project whose primary purpose was to verify the structural adequacy of the wooden wall construction designed by the manufacturer. From the initial analysis it was quickly shown the need for modification of the basic structure. It is a relatively large wall made of mechanically connected basic elements. The wall is made entirely of wood, which is also the main advantage. From the structural aspects is the construction planotropic, which means significant difference between properties in longitudinal and transverse direction. Originally, we tried to solve the problem by pre-tensioning. The result was not acceptable because of the inadequate tolerances of components. In addition, we changed the structure and adding wooden longitudinal cylindrical elements. The results of strain/stress analysis show that the proposed changes in construction are appropriate.
